Biomarker Imaging develops diagnostic, prognostic and predictive CT and MRI biomarkers for heart disease and establishes them in clinical routine. This includes:

• Validation and standardization of recording and evaluation techniques of 4D flow MRI in children • Characterization of diffuse myocardial fibrosis in hereditary cardiomyopathy using pre- and post-contrast T1-mapping • Contrast dose optimization in CT angiography for determining the size of the aortic annulus before TAVI • Evaluation of non-invasive imaging methods without radiation exposure for primary diagnostic imaging and assessment of large vessel vasculitis • Evaluation of the effect of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) on cardiac function as determined by MRI
