Federal Research Minister Anja Karliczek announced the partner institutions of the two new DZGs at a press conference. Each centre consists of several partner sites distributed throughout Germany. The total of 13 sites - six in the DZP and seven in the DZKJ - are now each coordinating the establishment of the two new centres. Within six months, the concepts for future research and cooperation should be in place. The aim is to improve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental illnesses and illnesses in childhood and adolescence. In one year, DZP and DZKJ should be ready for foundation.
The new sites are made up of universities, university hospitals and non-university research institutions. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) received 23 applications for the DZKJ and 20 for the DZP. The following sites succeeded in a multi-stage selection process:

With the German Centres for Health Research, the federal government promotes the long-term networking of excellent research institutions. New medical research results are to be applied more quickly and thus reach patients more quickly.
